Taif
Taif: Eden of Arabia
by Mohsen Al-Dajani
“All good men want to visit Mecca,” an old Bedouin once said, “and they want to die in Taif.”
Taif is a city in Saudi Arabia that is surrounded by three huge deserts. Mohsen al-Dajani—a Bedouin with a camera—uses photography as a form of art to communicate and call for more conservation of Taif’s architectural heritage. Through his fine images and poetic writing, the city’s natural beauties are illustrated. The book challenges the common perception that Arabia is a mere harsh desert and desolate place.
